Bill Curley

My foray into actual screenwriting began much, much later in my early 50s. Caring for my widowed mother in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, both mom and I endured Florida’s 2004 hurricane season. After suffering through hurricanes Francis and Jeanne in just three weeks, our beachside community had visual damage from both storms. These two tropical tempests ignited my screenwriting career. My very first script, titled “Cane,” came about from direct inspiration from Hurricane Jeanne. I told my incredulous mother, “Mom, there’s a story here. I just need to articulate it and learn this trade,” Eight years later, I had graduated from Full Sail University. My career was off, though to a “freshman” start. I have been writing ever since, all the while working on improving my craft.
